Central Region

The Central Region is edged by two deserts, the Namib desert to the West and the Kalahari to the East. Traveling north one perceives that the region is rich in mineral wealth and animal life, while southwards there is a vast plain of scrub and rock.

Etosha Region

Etosha, meaning “Great White Place”, is dominated by a massive mineral pan. The pan is part of the Kalahari Basin, the floor of which was formed around 1000 million years ago. The Etosha Pan covers around 25% of the National Park.

Caprivi Region

In the northeast of Namibia lies the Caprivi Strip, a lush contrast to the arid lands of Namibia. Riverine forests, swamplands and floodplain’s house a wide variety of ethnic groups. There is no other region in Namibia that offers such a wide diversity of animal species and the Caprivi is renowned by the bird watching community as well as nature lovers and discerning travellers.

Kaokoland is one of the last remaining wilderness areas in Southern Africa. It is a world of incredible mountain scenery, a refuge for the rare desert dwelling elephant, black rhino and giraffe and the home of the Himba people.

The sand dunes of Sossusvlei in the Namib Desert are often referred to as the highest dunes in the world. Various arguments are laid out to support this claim, but all miss the point, which is that Sossusvlei is surely one of the most spectacular sights in Namibia.
